In the Studio: Observational and Experimental Drawing with Feathers and Shells.

Wednesday 25th September, 4.00pm-4.30pm BST.

Our next ‘In the Studio’ session will explore observational and experimental drawing inspired by natural objects including feathers, shells and pebbles. In this practical session we will demonstrate the importance of close looking and share how to enable experimental mark making through a variety of layered materials.

If you would like to take part in the practical activity you will need some materials and a feather (an image will also be fine). Find some suggestions for drawing materials below:

  • Pencils (Hard and Soft)
  • Graphite
  • Watercolours
  • Wax Crayons
  • Charcoal
  • Handwriting Pen
  • Ink
  • Pencil Crayons
  • Oil Pastels

You are also welcome to sit back and watch!

This session is suitable for educators working in all settings, including EYFS, Primary and Secondary Schools, Health & Community Care, Home Education, Lifelong Learning and Museum and Gallery Education.
