Making A Banner At Woking College
In this post participatory print artist and head of Social Fabric Sarah Pimenta shares a workshop which she facilitated at Woking College Sixth Form with a group of 16-17 year olds. Sarah’s work as a participatory artist often touches on issues of social inclusion, this project being no exception to that. The aim of this workshop was to celebrate the diversity within the college community through creating a collaborative welcome banner that would be hung in the entrance hall of the college.

Hi everyone.
There was mention of a screen print using string. Can someone tell me more about this process?
Cheers, Dianne

Hi Dianne,
This is Sarah, I wrote the article above – I often use string in my screen prints with young people it gives a lovely texture!
You can use on paper or fabric just make sure the string is not too thick and wool or cotton based!
