Introduction to Ink via Still Life
Introduction to Ink By Sheila Ceccarelli
Indian Ink, a favourite drawing medium for experimenting with varied mark making, washes and beautiful, translucent effects. Ink is also often used with oil pastels as inky washes repel away from soft lines.
The warm up below was designed to introduce participants to drawing with ink and pastels and also to look broadly and quickly at a still life, examining the relationship between objects. Teenagers were told to be aware of the objects that were closer to them and those further away, but not to get too bogged down worrying about perspective.
