David worked in primary schools for over twenty years as a teacher, senior leader and Deputy Head teacher. He now works part time as an Associate Professor in Learning and Teaching at The University of Hertfordshire.
David also runs an educational consultancy, Creative Primary Science, which gives him the chance to share his passions for art, drama and science by working on creative projects with primary age children.
He also delivers CPD to primary school teachers and ITE trainee-teachers in higher education, exploring the links between art, drama, English and science. David is also an author and his most recent publication is a children’s book called Superhero Scientists which allows children to research and write about famous scientists and people who use science within their work. David is available to visit schools in-person or virtually to run sessions with children or to deliver training to staff.
