My current work is about exploring the idea of passing time, the cycle of the seasons, memory and loss; in essence, the human condition.  I choose to express this in an abstract way rather than using figurative imagery, relying on mark making, gesture, pattern and colour.

When I make drawings, paintings or prints, I always work in layers, this enables me to show a certain ‘history’ and enigma within the work.  In order to devise an exercise for making work that relates to my thinking, I would suggest trying the following:
