Acrylic Painting: ‘Food, Glorious Food’
The Larder at Burwash Manor, Cambridgeshire, held a Love Food Festival to celebrate local and regional produce. AccessArt ran a very simple drop-in acrylic painting workshop which I think reminded us all that sometimes the most simple ideas are the most effective.
What we found inspiring about this workshop (other of course than being surrounded by lovely food and a great atmosphere!), was how little “facilitation” or teaching is sometimes actually needed to enable participants to create fantastic work and enjoy a rewarding experience. And by definition then, how when given the time, space, materials and inspiration, participants draw upon their latent skills to produce something really rather beautiful.
This workshop could easily be facilitated by teachers with no experience of working with acrylics – there was no “teaching” involved.
