AccessArt Session Recording: Working With Shape and Colour Pathway

Find a recording of a Zoom session supporting the Working with Shape and Colour pathway in our Primary Art Curriculum.

These pathway support sessions aim to build teacher knowledge around how the AccessArt Primary Art Curriculum pathways are constructed, and how they can be adapted to suit your school.

In this session Paula Briggs and the AccessArt team introduces you to this pathway in which pupils create meaningful compositions in response to an original artwork, inspired by artists who collage such as Henri Matisse. This pathways includes techniques such as collage, simple printmaking, and positive and negative shapes and spaces

We will be demonstrating some practical skills as part of this session, which you are welcome to either join in with, or just observe. If you would like to join in with the activity have some scrap painted/coloured paper to hand.

Suitable for Art Leads, Classroom Teachers, SLT and other educators. Please note that even if you are not following this pathway, you may find the ideas and approaches relevant to other ages/pathways. The activities in this pathway can also be adapted to other ages and settings.
