AccessArt Explores Shakespeare

An illustrative poster for Macbeth.

AccessArt is pleased to have collaborated with four schools from around the UK to deliver a series of visual art activities that aim to explore two of Shakespeare’s plays: Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

This immersive project was devised by artist and AccessArt team member Rachel Thompson.

An Introduction

Shakespeare’s plays are full of rich imagery and symbolism, and discovering his work through visual art brings his writing to life in new and exciting ways.

This collection of resources is aimed at children in upper KS2 (Years 5 and 6) and within KS3 (Year 7, 8 and 9) who are exploring Shakespeare as part of their English curriculum.

Each resource collection contains 6 separate activities, designed to take place over a half term block. As with all AccessArt resources, there is scope to adapt the content and timing of the activities to best suit your setting.
