Rachel Dormor first started to use the potter’s wheel when she was 14 and studied three dimensional design at college specialising in ceramics and jewellery. The relationship between teaching and making is important and Rachel worked in a sixth form college as a curriculum lead for many years while working as a maker, leaving to complete an MA in Ceramic Design in 2010. Rachel specialises in finely thrown porcelain tableware with stockists in the USA, Europe and Japan. Rachel has just developed an app for art and design students and an A Level in Digital Media & Design for Cambridge Assessment and has written a book for International Art and Design teachers which will be published by CUP in May.
