Pātaka Art + Museum is a regional gallery located in Porirua, one of New Zealand’s most culturally diverse cities. Pātaka showcases Māori and Pacific art, contemporary New Zealand art, Asian and international cultures. We have strong social history exhibitions that connect with the rich and vibrant history of our region.
We offer unique educational opportunities and learning experiences for all ages. We are committed to arts education and ‘hands on’ responses to our exhibitions. We offer programmes for schools, teaching communities, after school classes for adults and children and a wider range of gallery workshops taught by artists, community wide collaborations and specialist groups.
