Year 3 & 4 Making Club: Animating Articulated Beasts

By Sheila Ceccarelli

This was the follow on session from previous sessions where year 3 & 4 pupils at Milton Road Primary School had made Articulated Beasts using thick, glossy paper and simple engineering with pliers to manipulate wire and make moving joints.

In this hour long session, pupils worked in pairs with short-burst digital cameras to take a series of photos of their creations with a view to animating them using basic stop frame animation.

I asked parents if children could bring in old cameras and empty SD cards for the task.
