Drawing Vegetables: A Drawing Game
By Paula Briggs
For the next few weeks in the Drawing and Making Workshop for ages 6 to 10, we’re going to concentrate on exploring a variety of media through drawing vegetables.
Most of the children in this class (who are aged 6, 7 and 8) have been attending the sessions for a while, so are very familiar with the drawing materials we have available. Because of this, and because I wanted the children to be able to explore the vegetables freely and instinctively, I decided to turn the first session into a game.

I love using vegetables to darw – especially in Autumn…This is so great to get the children to overcome any shyness and difficulty in a starting point ie. which materials to us….. Also gets them to try different combinations of materials than ones they feel comfortable with.
Inspiring!

What a wonderful lesson idea! My elementary aged students love drawing games! Actually though I’m going to try this with my adult students tonight!
